Bicycle Parking

As parking can be considered just one aspect of traffic demand management, the Winnipeg Parking Authority is working to improve the services we provide to cyclists within Winnipeg.

Bike Corral at Winnipeg SquareBike Corrals

The Winnipeg Parking Authority currently operates a secure bike “corral” at both our Civic Centre and Millennium Library Parkade locations. Access to the corrals is through the use of a swipe card that allows access to all corrals. While the corral is secure, any swipe card holder can access the space, so cyclists are encouraged to also bring their own bike lock. As the weight of a bike is not enough to activate the entry doors on the parkades, the Winnipeg Parking Authority will be installing equipment to allow bike corral users to enter the parkades through the normal vehicle ramps.

At the current time, the yearly fee for use of the Bike Corrals is $50.00. This fee must be paid in full in advance and is non-refundable. Upon first application, a $35.00 deposit will also be charged for the access card. This deposit will be refunded should the access card be returned by December 31st in the year of cancellation. Loss of the access card or failure to return after cancellation will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Should you wish to apply for use of the Bike Corrals, please complete the application form at the link below.

Seasonal Bike Pads

Seasonal Bike Pads

In order to increase the available parking for bikes in selected areas of the City, the Winnipeg Parking Authority is providing seasonal on-street locations to secure bikes. These locations require that you bring your own lock.

Bike RingBike Rings

With the transition to the multi-space paystations, the Winnipeg Parking Authority was left with a large number of posts stuck in the sidewalk that we removed old meters from.  Many of these have been repurposed with the addition of a ring to the post to allow bikes to be secured.
